Situata a breve distanza da Piazza Unità ma lontano dal caos e dal traffico del centro, l'inizio della scalinata di Via Ciamician è uno dei punti più panoramici (e instagrammabili) del centro storico triestino, dal quale si possono ammirare i palazzi storici e il Golfo.
La via è intitolata al fisico triestino di origini armene Giacomo Luigi Ciamician (1857-1922). Per i suoi lavori viene considerato un precursore dell'energia solare e il fondatore della moderna fotochimica. È anche stato un pioniere della fotosintesi artificiale e della transizione energetica con l'utilizzo di fonti rinnovabili.

Located a short distance from Piazza Unità but away from the chaos and traffic of the center, the beginning of the steps of Via Ciamician is one of the most panoramic (and instagrammable) points of the historic center of Trieste, from which you can admire the historic buildings and the Gulf.
The street is named after the Triestine physicist of Armenian origin Giacomo Luigi Ciamician (1857-1922). For his works he is considered a precursor of solar energy and the founder of modern photochemistry. He was also a pioneer of artificial photosynthesis and the energy transition with the use of renewable sources.
