L’imponente edificio del “Deposito delle Monizioni” o “Fontego Pubblico” (magazzino per derrate alimentari) denominato anche Arsenale, venne costruito a partire dal 1596 sotto il provveditore Zuanne Bembo e ampliato tra il 1616 e il 1617.
A sinistra dell’ingresso fa bella mostra di sé la lapide dedicatoria con stemma celebrativo delle virtù del provveditore Giovanni Nani il quale aveva provveduto all’ampliamento dell’edificio nel 1625. All’interno erano depositate le munizioni, le vettovaglie, ma anche attrezzi ed affusti di riserva per l’artiglieria.
Nell’Ottocento l’immobile fu adibito a caserma con il nome di Montezemolo e rimase in attività fino alla metà degli anni Novanta ospitando, da ultimo, la Brigata Pozzuolo.

The imposing building of the Deposit of Munitions or food warehouse also called Arsenal, was built starting from 1596 under the Superintendent Zuanne Bembo, and expanded between 1616 and 1617.
On the left of the entrance, the dedicatory memorial with the coat of arms celebrating the virtues of the Superintendent Giovanni Nani stands out; he provided for the expansion of the building in 1625. Inside were deposited the munitions, the provisions, but also tools and spare equipment for the artillery.
In the 19th Century the building was used as a barracks with the name of Montezemolo and remained in business until the mid-nineties hosting, finally, the Pozzuolo Brigade.
