Geocache Description:

Sometimes life gets in the way of fun and games.  That has been my story lately, and my lack of active caching.  Well, time to make amends and get going again!  Hmm, how can I give back to the community?

Of course, by creating some new puzzles, everyone’s favorite cache type, to solve and then find. However, my brain is too old and decrepit to be that creative.  Time to do something I did not think I would ever do again, refer to my interaction with Jenk Porkins. That’s right, time to hire a service to do my dirty work for me.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, only five people entered my contest. This made judging the ‘winners’ a whole lot easier. This is the saga of one of those winning contestants.

This interaction was a bit different than the others.  Unbeknownst to me or him, one of my co-workers entered my contest.  When we realized it, we decided to met up at the fried chicken restaurant that my two brothers, Gus & Max own, on our lunch break.

“So, you’re the one who created this crazy contest?” Marco asked me.

“Yeah man, I’ve been geocaching for years, and just cannot get my brain juices flowing to create new puzzles like I used to.  I guess I'm getting old.”

“It’s ok, I understand.  I think I created something perfect for you.”  At that moment, he wiped some buttermilk biscuit crumbs from the corner of his mouth and pulled out what seemed to be a scrap piece of paper.

In my mind I was sarcastically thinking that he sure put a lot of effort and care into fulfilling my wishes. Oh well, I figured I’d let him proceed with his idea, not sure if I'd end up using it after all.

“This is a code my Uncle Hector used after he had his stroke last year.  I think it’s rather unique, but once you know how to work it, it should be straightforward.”

“Oh man, yeah.  I’m so sorry, I forgot about your uncle.  How is he doing nowadays?”

“He’s alright.  My brother Leonel and I are going to stop by his place later this evening to check in.”  At that point, he slid his over his paper for me to check out.

We sat and talked for another 30 minutes or so.  Catching up on life and random doings of the world.  We said our goodbyes and vowed to be looking forward to going back to work, in a very sarcastic tone.   However, I feel like going forward, we might be spending a bit more of our breaks talking caching and puzzles.

When finding the cache, grab the information from the logbook that is needed to find the final in this series.

Big thanks to CubsGuy23 for the container.
