[RO] Localitatea Gârbova (Urwegen în germană, Szászorbó în maghiară), atestată din 1291 este situată în sudul Podisului Secaşelor. A fost întemeiată de secui în secolul XII, apoi acum 800 de ani locul lor a fost luat de saşi, care la rândul lor, au părăsit localitatea.
Cetatea Greavilor a fost ridicată la sfârşitul secolului XIII în jurul unui donjon romanic. A fost numit aşa după greavul sas Herbord de Wrbow. În secolul XV cetatea devine proprietatea comunităţii. Apoi în secolul XVI donjonul devine clopotniţă, iar fortificaţiile au fost întărite, inclusiv cu un turn de poartă masiv (Turnul slăninilor).
Biserica evanghelică din sat a fost construită în secolul XVI.
Bazilica romanică (evanghelică) in deal dateaza din secolul XIII.

[EN] The village Gârbova (Urwegen in German, Szászorbó in Hungarian), attested since 1291 is located in the south of the Secas Plateau. It was founded by the Szekler in the 12th century, then 800 years ago their place was taken by the Saxons who, in turn, left the village.
The Fortress was built at the end of the 13th century around a Romanesque keep (fortified tower). It was named after the Saxon greaf Herbord de Wrbow. In the 15th century it became the property of the community. Then in the 16th century the keep became a bell tower, and the fortifications were strengthened, including with a massive gate tower (the Bacon Tower).
The Evangelical church in the village was built in the 16th century.
The Romanesque (Evangelical) basilica from the hill dates back to the 13th century.
