Día del Completo: Chile's Ultimate Hot Dog Celebration 🌭🍅

On May 24, something special happens in Chile. The whole country celebrates Día del Completo, a day dedicated to the iconic Chilean hot dog, the "completo." But it’s not just any hot dog—oh no. It’s a tower of joy, a feast on a bun, dressed to impress with toppings like creamy avocado, chopped tomatoes, tangy mayonnaise, sauerkraut, and salsa americana. It’s the hot dog, elevated—completo is the full experience.

Now, we may not have completos in Canada, but we’ve got something else that’s completo in its own way: SCAR 2025. From May 23rd to 24th, the Saskatoon Cache and Release event kicks off, drawing geocachers from across Saskatchewan, and even beyond. It’s a 24-hour blitz of finding, hiding, and sharing. A cache-a-thon of epic proportions.

Imagine this: You’re on the hunt, racing against time, discovering caches in the wild, collecting memories—and, who knows, a few completos for lunch. Then, at the end of the 24 hours, after all that adventure, you join fellow geocachers at the Floral Community Centre for a celebration. What could possibly top that? A barbecue perhaps? Yes, there’s a good chance we’ll have hot dogs of our own to close the event—a completo-inspired feast with all the toppings.

But here’s the real kicker: If you hid a cache for SCAR 2025 between May 1st and May 31st, you’ll earn the Blue Switch Day souvenir. 🏅🎉 It’s a nod to the geocaching community’s dedication, celebrated every May 2nd for the past 25 years.

And while we’re talking about souvenirs, don’t forget to grab your camera! We’re putting together a film for the Geocaching International Film Festival to mark the 25th Anniversary of Geocaching. Whether it’s the dog you bring along on your geocaching adventures, the ride to your latest cache, or the best geocaching moment on the road, we want to see it all. 📸🌍
