🇸🇮 Igra Geocaching praznuje četrt stoletja. Od leta 2000, ko so računalniški in tehnološki zanesenjaki preizkušali sistem GPS s skrivanjem in iskanjem vsebnikov v naravi, je v 25 letih prerasla v svetovno igro, zaradi katere je septembra 2025 prišlo v Kamnik nekaj sto geolovcev iz 15 držav. HoG (History of Geocaching) georisba (geoart) je bila postavljena kot darilo udeležencem Kamnik 2025 Block Party dogodka in opomnik na bolj ali manj prelomne dogodke v četrtstoletni zgodovini igre.
Pomembni dogodki v letu 2012:
- Februar (A): ustanovna skupščina Slovenskega Geocaching kluba.
- Februar (A): Prestopni dan 2012 postane najaktivnejši dan v geolovski zgodovini dotlej: 83.516 geolovskih ekip ta dan zabeleži vsaj eno najdbo, kar preseže vse prejšnje rekorde.
- April (B): slovenski Geocaching klub uradno vpisan v seznam društev.
- Junij (C): objavljene prve GeoTure: Columbus Georgia Riverwalk GeoTour, Star-Spangled GeoTour and Captain John Smith GeoTour.
- Junij (C): ekipa GEO Maribor organizira GeoCacheEvent Maribor 2012, prvi slovenski dogodek z zahtevnejšo organizacijo in celodnevnim programom. Dogodki potekajo letno do leta 2016.

GeoCacheEvent Maribor 2012
🇬🇧 The game of Geocaching is celebrating a quarter of a century. Since 2000, when computer and technology geeks tested the GPS system by hiding and searching for containers in nature, it has grown over 25 years into a global game, which brought a few hundred geocachers from 15 countries to Kamnik in September 2025. The HoG (History of Geocaching) geoart was placed as a gift to the participants of the Kamnik 2025 Block Party event and a reminder of the more or less significant events in the game's quarter-century history.
Notable events in 2012:
- February (A): The founding assembly of the Slovenian Geocaching Club takes place in Ljubljana.
- February (A): Leap Day 2012 becomes the most active day in geocaching history at the time—83,516 unique geocaching accounts logged finds, surpassing all previous records.
- April (B): The Slovenian Geocaching Club is formally established as a non-profit, non-governmental organization under Slovenian law.
- June (C): The first geocaching GeoTours are launched: the Columbus Georgia Riverwalk GeoTour, the Star-Spangled GeoTour, and the Captain John Smith GeoTour.
- June (C): GEO Maribor team hosts the GeoCacheEvent Maribor 2012, the first Slovenian all-day event with advanced organization. The event becomes annual until 2016.
