🇸🇮 Igra Geocaching praznuje četrt stoletja. Od leta 2000, ko so računalniški in tehnološki zanesenjaki preizkušali sistem GPS s skrivanjem in iskanjem vsebnikov v naravi, je v 25 letih prerasla v svetovno igro, zaradi katere je septembra 2025 prišlo v Kamnik nekaj sto geolovcev iz 15 držav. HoG (History of Geocaching) georisba (geoart) je bila postavljena kot darilo udeležencem Kamnik 2025 Block Party dogodka in opomnik na bolj ali manj prelomne dogodke v četrtstoletni zgodovini igre.
Pomembni dogodki v letu 2023:
- Januar (A): Benchmarking (beleženje ameriških geodetskih markerjev) umaknjen s spletišča geocaching.com.
- April (B): deseta obletnica dogodka na Šmarni gori, poznanega po srečelovu, turški kavi, baklavah, kamnitih hroščkih in strmem 45-minutnem vzponu do prizorišča.
- November (C): deseta obletnica Mednarodnega festivala geolovskega filma (GIFF). Projekcije znova potekajo na geolovskih dogodkih po vsem svetu.
- December (D): predstavljena možnost praznovanja 25-letnice igre Geocaching na Block Party dogodkih po vsem svetu.

Šmarna gora event: coffeee or baklavas, anyone?
🇬🇧 The game of Geocaching is celebrating a quarter of a century. Since 2000, when computer and technology geeks tested the GPS system by hiding and searching for containers in nature, it has grown over 25 years into a global game, which brought a few hundred geocachers from 15 countries to Kamnik in September 2025. The HoG (History of Geocaching) geoart was placed as a gift to the participants of the Kamnik 2025 Block Party event and a reminder of the more or less significant events in the game's quarter-century history.
Notable events in 2023:
- January (A): The Benchmarking retired from the Geocaching.com website.
- April (B): The tenth anniversary of the Šmarna gora event (a hill just outside the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana), renowned for its raffle, Turkish brewed coffee, baklava, stone beetle souvenirs, and a 45-minute steep ascent to reach the event grounds.
- November (C): The tenth anniversary of the Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF). Screenings took place at community-hosted events all around the world.
- December (D): Worldwide Block Parties announced as a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Geocaching.
