Bear with it, a wee walk is worth it for the view from the final.
Park at the end of Mopanui Road where the posted coordinates take you. Alternatively, walk there from Orokonui Sanctuary if you're feeling energetic; this return walk is over 6km, and the T rating would be around 2.5, plus you will probably want to do the T3.0 GCB4QTR Mopanui geocache on the way.
The posted coordinates are the start of the Mopanui Ridgeline walk which heads down the ridge to White Rd near Doctors Point. If you want an lovely half-day loop walk down to the beach and back up to the end of Mopanui Road, have a look at this tracks shown on Dunedin City Council's online map of Tracks and Trails around Dunedin : head downhill to White Rd, then down White Rd to meet the road to Doctors Point; then walk out to Doctors Point and head along the beach (make sure it's between half-tide and low tide) to Canoe Beach near the Mapoutahi Pa site; next, climb across the neck of this headland and pick up the track inland through the pines to Osborne Road and Purakaunui Inlet; then follow Osborne Road around the inlet to Purakaunui Station Road and walk up it to the railway line; cross the railway line and head up the McKessar Track and back to your car. This loop will take around 3 hours. Don't forget to look for all those caches at Doctors Point, Mapoutahi Pa, and on the McKessar Track.
In contrast, this multi is just a short walk to admire the view.

CAUTION: if driving into Mopanui Road, watch the turn into, and out of, this road as it drops away sharply from the intersection with Blueskin Bay Road. A 2WD car can negotiate Mopanui Road, if driven slowly.
