WELCOME TO THE
HAGGIS SPIRAL
This series of mystery caches takes you on the journey the Haggis have taken from one of their hilly homes to a holiday at the beach.
As you know they have 2 leg shorter than the other. Therefore, no strait line routes here.
None of the caches are at the published coordinates. You need to do a little bit of work to get the finals.
For the puzzles you need to figure something out or do a Jigsaw
There is a variety of caches in this series. Some with long walks and some drive-by. Please be considerate when looking for them and don’t block field entrances etc while parking. Also keep a close eye on children and dogs when near roads and water. Don’t put yourself at risk for a cache.
Finaly a bit of “how to be a good cacher”
- If you can’t sign the logbook don’t log a find
- Always replace the cache where it was found.
- If there is a problem with the cache please log an “owners attention log” (the haggis will then check it out)
- If you can’t find it log a DNF (the haggis will then check it out)
- Logbooks do get full and wet. Carry some spares we really like when people replace them.
- Always remember you pen. Tweezers are good as well.
And now this cache.
Strichen stone circle is a Megalithic recumbent stone circle located near Strichen in the north east of Scotland. It has been destroyed twice and in the early 1980s was excavated and reconstructed.
The circle was visited in ABCD by James Boswell with his father. Boswell then returned with Samuel Johnston in EFGH, because the lexicographer was interested in seeing a "Druid's Temple".
The cache can be found at N57 3C.(F-G)(A)(D) W002 0(F-E).(H)(A+E)(D-G)
On finding the cache we would recomend going the 700m upto the circle.
