Friends. I met @Honeybee77 for the first time at a Blustery Burbs Geocaching event on a blind date back in January 2016. We cached, moved to Wisconsin, got married and then The Young Grasshopper came along in early 2018. To say things moved fast is a huge understatment. Our little family had a blast camping, logging National Parks and enjoying our time outside. Sadly, she was taken from us in late 2023 after a short and courageous battle with Cancer.
She was a lover of nature, plants and animals. Some even knew her as an Earth Cache Reviewer for a number of years.
@Teper129 and I have worked with the Crystal Lake Park District to have a bench and tree placed in her memory at a favorite park of mine growing up and one that she and I visited often. Many thanks to all the donators who made this possible. Please join me and TYG as we dedicate the tree and bench. Please share your favorite photos with her in your logs, even if you cannot attend. If you can attend, bring your stories and your laughter.
1-1:30pm near the Rotary Shelter
Much love and happy trails!!

If you have ever gone to the woods with me,
I must love you very much.
