THE LIGHTHOUSE OF

KALLBÅDAGRUND

This wherigo-cache will show you the Kallbådagrund Lighthouse. Prepare a lot of time when going for this cache, you will need a good boat to get to the starting location. The cache itself is no biggie, a plastic container near the water.

THE LIGHTHOUSE OF KALLBÅDAGRUND
Kallbådagrund Lighthouse, Finland’s first caisson lighthouse built to replace a lightship, was constructed at the Sveaborg shipyard in 1950. The tower was erected in 1952 on the caisson, set at a depth of 10 m near Söderskär, and its white flashing light was first lit in autumn 1953. The structure was reinforced in 1977, when a helipad was also added. It is remotely operated from Gråhara pilot station.
