Geocache Description:

Ochberg Lookout is located in the Ramot Menashe region, between Ein HaShofet and Ramat HaShofet, adjacent to the "Omarim" regional elementary school. From the lookout, there is a panoramic view of a vast area of Ramot Menashe, Kibbutz Dalia, and further south, reaching as far as the chimneys of the Orot Rabin power station in Hadera.

The lookout was established in a location overlooking lands purchased by the Jewish National Fund using a donation from the estate of Isaac Ochberg. It commemorates Ochberg and the orphanage he established in South Africa for Jewish children from Ukraine.

The lookout was inaugurated on July 20, 2011, in the presence of a representative from the South African Embassy and a representative of the "Ochberg Children." Scattered across rocks and stones at the site are 187 metal plaques bearing the names of the children whom Ochberg saved. His life story and the rescue of the children are commemorated on two metal plaques, one in Hebrew and one in English.
