Great Lakes National Cemetery has asked the public to come and help with their spring cleaning. For this CITO, we'll be washing the headstones of some of America's greatest heroes. All participants are asked to bring a five gallon bucket and a soft scrub brush if you have one available. They will have some onsite but not nearly enough to go around.
When you get there, look for familiar faces as it is not necessary for each individual to check in. At 9:00 the Director will give a little speech and then we will drive to the section we will be cleaning. Stay as long as you can but it is expected that the entire cemetery will be completed by lunch....which will be served at 11:00 in the maintenance building.
If you plan on participating, please log your will attend so I can watch for you and give the cemetery a count of possible attendees. Also, I will make an announcement on this page once I know for sure which section they will have us cleaning. It may just be easier if we all just meet there once we know what section that will be. So to avoid any confusion, be sure to make a will attend and watch for an announcement that morning.
