Heavy Sides trail ~ woodland walk with lake view
This trail is one of contrasts. The beginning takes you through a recently cleared area of some majestic Oaks past some Protected Trees where you will enjoy a really breathtaking panoramic view.
The trail then climbs through an area of coniferous trees which border the forest boundary along Heavy Sides where the views of Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite Lake awaits you, you bear left and head to the edge of the forest before turning right and follow the well defined path down to a new footbridge across Masmill Beck cross over and head up to the Slate Picnic table and seats. From there turn right and follow the main track down to another bridge. Just past the bridge take the track down to the left and follow until you come to the signs and turn right to join the path which will lead you back to the car park.
