Xianzhao Zen Temple, located atop Shiyan Mountain in Hangzhou's Xiaoshan District, Zhejiang Province, China, was originally constructed during the Southern Song Dynasty (1131–1162). The temple's name, meaning "First Light Zen Temple," is derived from its position where the morning sun first illuminates.
The temple complex encompasses significant structures such as the Mahavira Hall, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Bell and Drum Towers, Reclining Buddha Hall, Medicine Buddha Hall, and the Guanyin Hall, totaling 55 rooms with a combined area exceeding 3,000 square meters. A notable feature is the seven-story, octagonal Vajra Pagoda, standing at 28.85 meters tall, symbolizing the temple's heritage.
