Welcome to the Rainbow Bird Trail of Golden Plains Shire Council.
This cache is along a forest track that will require a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance. It can also get a bit wet in winter.
Australian Pelicans are widespread on freshwater, estuarine and marine wetlands and waterways, including lakes, swamps, rivers, coastal islands and shores. The Australian Pelican, like all but one of the world’s the seven species of pelicans, is primarily white. Their most characteristic feature is their long bill with its large pouch. The bill is 40–50 cm long, and can hold up to 13 litres of water. Pelicans have a wingspan of up to 2.5 m.
