A get-together creating caches for
1. The Blue Switch Day 2025 hider souvenir
2. second hiding theme of BACK TO NATURE 🌲🍃 so bring along your bits and pieces and ideas for creating a cool and interesting new cache.
FROM "The Logbook" from geocaching HQ: Blue Switch Day 2025 hider:
- To earn this souvenir, geocachers must have a non-Event geocache published between May 1 and 31, 2025.
- Any non-Event geocache type (excluding Adventure Lab) counts, as long as it is published between May 1 and May 31.
- Remember that review times may vary! A geocaching community volunteer will typically begin the review of your geocache within 7 days. We recommend submitting your cache for publication at least a week before the deadline.
And the second souvenir isBlue Switch Day 2025 finder souvenir.
Blue Switch Day 2025 finder:
To earn this souvenir, geocachers must find and log one geocache, attend an Event, or complete an Adventure Lab® Location between May 2 and 4, 2025.
The second hiding theme: Back to nature 🌲🍃
There are countless possibilities for what you can attach a container to, place a container under, or use to make a geocache. Be creative, but make sure to follow the geocache hiding guidelines.
Examples to inspire:
- Natural camouflage—logs, rocks, pinecones (the possibilities are endless!)
- Animals and insects
- Fairy/gnome garden houses
- EarthCaches showcasing interesting geological features
- Geocaches in and around the water
So really anything "OUTDOORS" will work.
It's a pretty broad subject when you think of it that way. Use your imagination but remember you cannot use tupperware or lock'n'lock containers or similar or a pb jar or pill bottle etc. as your container, you can use that inside your cache to hold the log, but not for the cache itself.
You DO NOT have to create a cache container to attend the event, everyone is welcome to come visit.
