SideTracked - Rosehill Gardens

Rosehill Gardens Light Rail Station, located in the suburb of Rosehill, Sydney, serves as a key stop on the Parramatta Light Rail network. This station replaced the former Rosehill railway station, which operated from its opening on 17 November 1888 until its closure on 5 January 2020, as part of the conversion of the Carlingford line to the L4 light rail.

The original Rosehill railway station was established primarily to serve the adjacent Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, providing racegoers with direct access to the venue. Over the years, it became an integral part of the community's transport infrastructure. In 2020, the station was closed and subsequently demolished to make way for the Parramatta Light Rail project, which aimed to enhance connectivity across Western Sydney. 

The new Rosehill Gardens Light Rail Station opened on 20 December 2024, offering modern facilities and improved accessibility for passengers. This redevelopment has significantly improved public transport options for residents and visitors, linking them more effectively to key areas in Western Sydney.
