Geocache Description:

One in a series of caches to highlight the many towns, villages, hamlets, localities and crossroads around Victoria.    Based on a series of caches in South Australia, started by local SA cacher adelaideram.    adelaideram was contacted and is happy with the series spreading its wings into Victoria.

Osbornes Flat is a rural locality and former mining area in north-east Victoria, is 22 km south of Wodonga and 6 km from Yackandandah.

Osbornes Flat, named after James Osborne, the first white settler in the area was established as a gold town in the 1850's and had five hotels, several stores, a school, several trades' people and a lodging house.

However, Yackandandah became the main focus and today there only remains a school and hall. Osbornes Flat Hall was opened on the 25th May 1921 with the original cost being around 700 pounds. In 2010 a Federal and State grant of $140,000 allowed the hall to be refurbished and restored to its former glory. The hall is now used as a meeting place for local groups, events and community functions.

To find the GZ for the cache, simply solve the 80 piece jigsaw below.   Once at GZ, there is room to pull off the road to find GZ.
