My first geocache! I have been caching for years and have finally decided to make one. I thought this would be the perfect spot with people traveling along Highway 16. You can stop on the side of the range road safely, and nobody should care. It is a family-friendly cache stocked with lots of swag for all ages, sorted into separate containers. Some swag includes coins, keychains, magnets, rocks, cards, land yards, writing materials, travel bugs, etc. I encourage you to leave swag if you want and take swag if you wish to, as long as it is not in the logbook container. You are looking for a large, all-black container that is right off the clearing that you can find from the second powerline. The cache now has a 3-number code lock on it; the code is the range road number you are on. It is between two groups of trees; you do not have to cross the fence onto Bilan Ranch to find it. Do not cut straight through the spruce trees to find the cache. Use the fenceline and turn right to find a non-spruce tree. Watch out for squirrels, spruce branches, and livestock nearby. The cache is chained up to a small non-spruce tree. There are 2 straps and a few rocks holding the lid down from blowing away. Please ensure that these are tight to keep the elements from ruining the cache. There is a safe turnaround spot a little farther down the road to the right that you can use. Bathroom facilities and garbage facilities are around, with the Blackfoot provincial recreation area being a 5-minute drive, the Ukrainian Heritage Village being 2 minutes, and Elk Island National Park being 8 minutes.
