Welcome to Pioneer Trail, (what used to be) the ultimate teenager party spot.
This small hidden cut out in Barrie was the spot for what appears to be three old cottages, now demolished, with small remnants remaining. One cabin still stood tall, and during my highschool years, this cabin slowly disappeared over the time of being partied in, destroyed, and eventually burned down. The city of Barrie finally pulled the plug on this remaining cabin and it was demolished just over a year ago.
Small pieces of this cabin still remain around the clearing in the woods. The beach was always filled with kids on hot summer nights, where large bonfires roared and music blared through the sand dunes. Now being turned into 18 large homes, this plot of land holds lots of stories and late night teenage adventures.
