Within the woods are numerous yew trees. The yew is incredibly long-lived and is not considered ancient until it reaches 900 years old. Ten yew trees in Britain are believed to predate the 10th century.

The yews in Crofton and Sparrow Woods are not that old, buy they may be someday! You are looking for a cache in a young yew next to the path.
Permission for cache placement in the SSSI has been obtained from Natural England and the Senior Ranger and Site manager.
