Hello folks!
As the title proclaims, place that hides the cache is a
secret and not known by many people. The cache is hidden in a hard to reach
place in the mountain near a big rock. You have to jump down from the rock which
is around a meter high. This action may require some skill as I found myself in
a position that it is kind of hard to get back. Not to worry though, couple of
tries and you are back on the dirt track again.
How to get there:
The cache is hidden in a village called "Mazikoy". There are
several small hotels out there. If you are going to stay I highly recommend "Tas
Pansiyon", this is also where I stayed at. The coordinates for the gate of "Tas
Pansiyon" are [N
37°00.131']
[E 027°43.938]. However,
in order to get to that village you need to travel around 26km from the main
road that connects Bodrum and Milas. When on the main road, you have to turn
from the sign showing "Mumcular" to go to "Mazikoy". That intersection is around
25km away from Bodrum. The coordinates for the intersection are
[N 37°08.487']
[E 027°34.948].
Once you are on the way to "Mumcular", sit back and enjoy the miracles of your
marvelous GPS.
The size, shape, and contents of the cache:
The cache is self-fabricated by using two 1.5 liter water
bottles where the top portions of them are cut away. Because of the unique shape
of those bottles, when they are connected, they become waterproof (a very good
way to prepare caches that are waterproof and cost efficient). Anyways, the
container has been placed into a black plastic bag for a redundant camouflage as
this cache is extremely impossible to find if you are just wondering around that
place. When you jump down from the big rock and face to the rock again, the
cache is on your right under the bush. Believe me, there is only enough place to
jump and turn around, so the cache should be visible with a small crouch.
The cache contains:
Several log papers (sorry couldn't find a logbook), the blue
bead from
"Land of the Snakes" by The Cyberdude, a small soap, Entrance tickets (void)
to "Ephesus" and "Mother Mary's House" in Seljuk, and a pen.
Please enjoy the beautiful view and of course don't forget to
swim in the sea.
