Let's celebrate "Mates Day" which has its origin in Australia (May 8 sounds a bit like "mate") and which is all about friendship, support and connecting with other people. Geocaching is a great way of making friends, both at home and while travelling. We have met many wonderful cachers through hosting and attending events everywhere we go. We've been given free geocoins, free fast track entry to a major tourist attraction, taxi service to remote caches in places where we didn't have a hire car, help with puzzle solving, good company during long and short walks, the list goes on.....
"GeoMay8 Day" is the brain child of Aussie cacher Calypso62. If you're lucky enough to visit Sydney you are bound to come across some of his excellent hides. He would love to see his idea spread across the world, so let's be good mates and celebrate this day of friendship here in northern Scotland as well.
Some of you will have already been to the little community garden here in North Kessock during a previous event. There is plenty of free parking right next to the garden. We'll provide some snacks and there is also a small grocery store close by.
