My Grandfather was a Sergent who was part of the team who came over to Pegasus Bridge during the evening of 6th June 1944. He was on the second batch of Horsa Gliders who came to assist in the defence of Pegasus Bridge. He remained in France for several months after the sucessful D-Day landings and survived the war to return to his family.
I will be visiting the Pegasus Bridge Musuem on Friday 16th May20205 with my father to view my grandfathers medals and remember him. Prior to entering the museum we would like to meet anyone in the area who wish to join us. I am sure my father will be able to regail us with stories of his dad as well.
There are Cafes in the area and hopefully the weather will be nice for an outside chat.
