Inland Crystal Salt Company
Kansas City investorts bought Inland Salt Company in 1891 for $200,000 and renamed it Inland Crystal Salt Company. They doubled the capacity of the works. The salt was transported on the same railroad line which connected the old Saltair, Black Rock and Garfield Resorts with downtown Salt Lake City. Salt beds of the Inland Salt Company were located East of Saltair resort. The Company’s kiln was the largest salt drying kiln in the West until the 1920s. Morton Salt Morton Salt bought Inland Crystal Salt, and its Royal Crystal brand name in 1927. The cache is the signature Ribizlifozelek yogurt bottle hidden under a concrete slab.
