Somewhere along the peaceful stretch of Gowrie Creek, nestled between Oakey and Kingsthorpe, a tiny treasure waits. It’s a bison tube—small but mighty—tucked away in the most logical of spots for a geocacher with a keen eye.
As you arrive, listen to the creek’s quiet song and take a moment to soak in the surroundings. At the time of placing this cache, a giant mushroom stands sentinel nearby—towering like a fantasy guardian, watching your every move as you search. Nature’s odd little surprises, right?
You’re looking for a bison tube hidden with care but not cruelty. No need to dig or disturb the area—just think like a cacher and the location will reveal itself. Please replace it exactly as found to keep the hide sneaky for the next adventurer.
There’s no pen inside, so BYO writing stick. And as always, watch out for critters, especially the tiny ones with six legs and bad tempers!
Happy hunting, and may the mushroom still be watching when you arrive…
Update March 2026. I have been informed that the original hide has been removed. Please feel free to log a find including a photo of the guardian! I will get this replaced when I can make the 3hour trip up to the cache.
