“Music is the soundtrack of our lives,” Dick Clark once quipped.  There is no doubt that we all have songs and albums that we remember as being significant for any number of reasons over the course of our lives.  Whether it be pop, rock, blues, country, jazz, classical and, yes, even rap, these tunes evoke fond memories and stay with us forever.

I have created a list of what I consider to be my favourite albums over my lifetime.  It is influenced by the era I grew up in and would likely be considered primarily a “classic rock” list. I certainly would not expect anyone to agree wholeheartedly with my list, but chances are that one or two of these entries might make your list as well.

I was a but of a latecomer to Rumours as it was released during my hard rock phase and didn’t quite involve the level of head banging required at the time.  But I have come to appreciate it more and more over the years and in fact it might get more current airplay than any of my other Top Ten.  Fleetwood Mac recorded the album in 1976 amid much drama amongst the band’s members, but went it on to sell more than 40 million copies. In my opinion, Lindsey Buckingham is a very underrated guitarist and Stevie Nicks…well besides that voice, I’m sure that I wasn’t the only young lad to have a serious crush on her.

Rumours was rated No. 7 on Rolling Stones Top 500 Albums of all time in 2023.
