Crooked Creek in Arkansas is a 129 km (80 mi.) long stream that flows through Boone, Marion, and Newton counties in northern Arkansas. Its headwaters are located on the north side of Sulphur Mountain in Newton County, and it flows north, then east, and finally southeast, entering the White River just south of Buford Station and approximately four miles southeast of Yellville.45
The creek has a mean discharge of 486 cubic feet per second at Yellville.5 It is known for its trophy smallmouth bass fishing and offers opportunities for swimming, walking, and canoeing.4 The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission designated a 22-mile strip of water as the Crooked Creek Water Trail in 2012, which covers the stream from the Lower Pyatt Access to Yellville.
This should be an easy cache; however, muggles will be an issue for this area is frequently used. There are picnic tables, a band shell, and a nice view of the bridge that is being built. Please respect the area, give the right of way to bikers, and be STEALTHY!
