The Greymouth Jockey Club race once a year in January as part of the West Coast circuit which includes Reefton and Kumara. The first meeting took place here in March 1867.
These days they are family friendly events with plenty of entertainment to keep the kids busy all day too.
This entrance to the race course is NOT a public entrance as indicated by signage and on race days the large parking area is likely to be full of race related vehicles etc.
The cache is placed outside the gate so there is no need to trespass while looking for the cache.
