Crooked Creek in Arkansas is a 129 km (80 mi.) long stream that flows through Boone, Marion, and Newton counties in northern Arkansas. Its headwaters are located on the north side of Sulphur Mountain in Newton County, and it flows north, then east, and finally southeast, entering the White River just south of Buford Station and approximately four miles southeast of Yellville.
This stroll from the parking lot to cache 2 is approximately 1.1 miles. I walked here for over three years and would walk the loop below the dam to the other side of the creek then back over the bridge to the soccer field for about a 3 mile loop. Lake Harrison is small but a real gem. There are at least two different species of turtles, and there is perment residence of ducks and at least 3 geese.
This should be an easy cache; however, muggles will be an issue especially during soccer season. Don't stand on the bike path when looking for this cache. I put the difficulty at 2 because of muggles (power walkers, bmx bikers, fishing persons, and Futbol/Soccer usage. Please respect the area, give the right of way to bikers, and be STEALTHY!
