Geocache Description:

Town name: Winegars

Population: 10

Reason for becoming a lost town:  Winegars lost its reason for being when all the businesses it relied on closed down.

Town history: Winegars (pronounce it like "vinegar") was a tiny town with a big dream. Founded by W.S. Winegar, who the town was named after, started a furniture company that lasted into the 1920s. During its heyday, Winegars had a furniture store, a pickle factory, a general store, a gas station, and a hotel. When the lumber was completely cut up, Winegars did not die out. Instead, it thrived well into the 1950s, even having a Winegars High School. Sadly though, everything began to close by the 1960s. The post office was shut down sometime after 1949, the high school closed and was consolidated into Gladwin, and the last business shut down ten years ago. Nowadays, Winegars is just a tiny sign people see as they drive down M-30.

Cache description: A small pill bottle

Notes of interest: Located across from the last business that existed here, along with the old town hall.
