Geocache Description:


This Cache is located in an old moat on Turbet Island. Turbet Island is a great example of a Motte and Bailey. It is unusual because it has a bailey on both sides of the raised motte area. The remains of a woolly mammoth were found near the island when the river Erne was being dredged. There is a lovely walk around the island and across a beautiful old railway bridge.
