Indigo Buntings migrate at night using the stars to navigate. The birds possess an internal clock that enables them to continually adjust their angle of orientation to a star - even as the star moves through the night sky.
Welcome to Menomonie's wonderful bicycle/pedestrian trail system. The system is an extensive network of trails winding around much of the city. Most of the trails are blacktopped. Stop at the Memomonie Chamber of Commerce or Memononie Parks and Recreation for a map of the trails. Permission for placing these geocaches was given by Recreation Manager Mitchell Stai of Menomonie Parks and Recreation.
The geocaches in this series will be a variety of sizes, containers, and hiding locations to provide an easy challenge for all seekers. The containers will be close together but at least a tenth of a mile apart from each other. Because of this, a person biking might think about finding every other one going out and then leapfrogging back to pick up the rest.
All the containers are no more than 50 feet in either direction from the center of the blacktopped path. Seekers should NOT have to cross any fences of any type but may have to reach over a fence in some locations.
Kudos for Red Granite for the original series of geocaches along the trail.
