The Mount Adams Steps in Cincinnati are a historic and scenic set of stairways that connect the riverfront area near downtown to the charming hillside neighborhood of Mount Adams. Originally built in the 19th century, these steps were once a practical necessity, providing pedestrians—especially workers and churchgoers—with a direct route up the steep incline. Today, they’re part of the city's rich architectural legacy and urban landscape.
The Steps is also a religious object. The Holy Cross Immaculata Church, also called "The Church of the Steps", was built on Mt. Adams in 1859. Since then, it has been the site of the annual Good Friday Pilgrimage, where the devout say prayers on each step to the summit.
The view fom the top of the steps is just fantastic (and there's also a geocache!). There's parking just a few eet from WP1, but to experience the Steps and to get a few extra steps it, I highly recommend parking at the suggested coordinates (it's also easier to find a spot there on most days).
