War Memorial #1557 ~ Eckington
The Eckington War Memorial is a block of stone with dressed face, and (possibly later addition) statue of lion in front.There is a cross immediately behind which does not form part of the memorial. It commemorates the "unreturning brave of the parish" who died in the First and Second World Wars.
To get the final co-ordinates for this cache, you must visit the war memorial (at the posted co-ordinates) and find some information there. The information and maths involved should all be fairly easy.
The final cache can be found at N52 04.ABB W002 06.CDE where:-
- The number in F.A Cross rank? = A
- The number of letters in the surname that appears in both WWI and WWII multiplied by the number of Aldingtons? = B
- The number of letters in the surname of the person at the top of the right hand column of WWII names? = C
- The number of letters in the longer surname that appears twice in the WWI list? = D
- In the right hand column of names for WWI, subtract the number of letters in the 8th surname from the number of letters in the 10th surname? = E
