The Britannia Bridge celebrates its 175th birthday in 2025 — and what better way to mark the occasion than by placing a new cache? I remember finding one here years ago; I hope this one serves as a fitting replacement.
Originally opened as a tubular railway bridge, it was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1970 before being rebuilt in its current configuration, carrying both rail and road traffic to and from Anglesey.
To find the cache, visit the three waypoints and collect the required values to solve the coordinates.
- At the posted coordinates — On the base of the most southerly tower is a plaque. Take the two dates from this plaque: 18AB and 19C8
- Stage 2 — At the base of the tube section are three plaques. Take the date from the 3rd plaque: 1D July 1E80.
- Stage 3 — There’s a number on the ground by the edge of the sea wall. Take this number as F. (Hint: It's not the '9' right in the corner).

Important: The cache is not hidden on the railway or the A55, nor can waypoints or the final be accessed from either. It can only be reached via the Wales Coastal Footpath. Parking is available at Treborth.
