Help me help the Elkhart City Parks Department introduce newbies to geocaching in various parks accross the city of Elkhart.
ECPD is excited to start a monthly meet up at a different city park each month, to introduce the younger generation to this fun hobby while encouraging getting outside and promoting city parks. Not only is this a social event for experienced cachers, but an event to help others learn about the different things they could experience while caching. Fun adventures you have had, the challenges, CITO, basic etiquette, travel bugs, container types, terrain and so on. So many of us learned by trial and error, this is a fun way to start new cachers off right, to avoid commen errors. Feel free to bring some examples for show and tell, while meeting some cachers you are familiar with their GC Name but have never met ftf.
We will start at Woodlawn Nature Center, then those willing, travel together (close-by) to find additional caches in the city limits. Suggestions are welcome!
The end goal in the fall is to potentially teach those interested how to hide a cache.
This is my first event so it would be lovely for you to attend. Hope to see you there!
