This series, created with permission from and in correspondence with the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation, invites you to discover the natural beauty, rich ecology, fascinating geology, and deep history of Batiquitos Lagoon. Each cache offers a chance to explore a unique feature of this vibrant coastal environment. Take your time, look around, and enjoy everything this special area has to offer.
This cache is not at the posted coordinates! Orienteering is an outdoor navigation sport where participants use a map and compass to find a series of checkpoints or control points in a natural setting, like a forest or park. The goal is to navigate through the course in the correct order, as quickly as possible, testing both your map-reading and decision-making skills. It’s a fun way to explore the outdoors while combining hiking or running with navigation challenges.
At the posted coordinates, you will find a marker for the Batiquitos Lagoon Center Orienteering Course. On top of the post, there is a two-digit number. Type that number into Certitude to recieve the final coordinates of this cache.
