The first SQUARE ROOT DAY recognition was created by Ron Gordon, a high school teacher, on 09/09/1981. It is an unofficial holiday where people often celebrate by eating roots. The last SQUARE ROOT DAY 4/4/16 and the next one wiil be 6/6/36. Only 9 dates every century qualify to be a SQUARE ROOT DAY.

In addition, Geocaching's 25 Years in 2025 is extra special because the year 2025 is a PERFECT SQUARE YEAR. A PERFECT SQUARE YEAR is the product of a number multiplied by itself as in 45 x 45 = 2025. This phenomenon has not happened for decades. The last time it occurred was in 1936 = 44 x 44 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office. Previously was 43 x 43 = 1849.
