El huevo del Herensuge
Kondairak dioenez, buru anitzeko dragoi beldurgarri batek herria izutzen zuen. Hainbesteko menpekotasuna zuen, ezen herritarrek eurek saiatu baitziren haren haserrea baretzen, piztiak errukirik gabe bizirik irentsi zitzan neskameak emanez.
Zorte txarrak nahi izan zuenez, piztiari eskaini zioten hurrengo neskamea herriko errementari gazte baten etorkizuneko emaztea izan zen. Ez zen geldirik geratuko bere emaztegaiaren sakrifizioan eta sutegia martxan jartzea erabaki zuen, egunez eta gauez lanean bere patu madarikatutik salbatzeko.
Horrela, errementaria Herensugeren gordelekuan agertu zen bere tailerreko kate luze batekin eta oraindik bero zegoen lantza handi batekin. Artisauak dragoi odoltsuaren sugarrak saihestu eta aukera aprobetxatu zuen bere lantzaz zulatzeko hil arte.
Une hartatik aurrera, herrixka horrek bakean bizi ahal izan zuen, nahiz eta esaten duten... piztiak ondorengo bat utzi zuela, eta hura zegoen arrautzaren oskola hausteko 1000 urte beharko zituela.
Nondik zen errementari hori?
Cuenta la leyenda que un temible dragón de varias cabezas atemorizaba al pueblo. Y era tal el sometimiento, que el propio pueblo intentaba aplacar su ira con la entrega de doncellas para que la bestia las devorará vivas sin ningún tipo de compasión.
La mala suerte quiso que la siguiente doncella a ser ofrecida a la bestia fuese la futura esposa de un joven herrero de la villa. Éste no iba a quedarse de brazos cruzados ante el sacrificio de su prometida y decidió poner en marcha la fragua para trabajar día y noche para poder salvarla de su fatídico destino.
Es así que el herrero se presentó en la guarida del Herensuge con una larga cadena salida de su taller y una gran lanza aún caliente. Pudo el artesano esquivar la llamarada del dragón sediento de sangre y aprovechar la ocasión para ensartarlo con su lanza hasta darle muerte.
Aquella villa pudo vivir en paz desde ese momento, aunque dicen... que la bestia dejó un vastago que tardaría 1000 años en romper la cascara el huevo que lo contiene.
¿De donde era aquel herrero?
The legend prays that a fearsome multi-headed dragon terrorized the village. Such was its subjugation that the people tried to appease its wrath by offering up maidens for the beast to devour alive without any mercy.
As bad luck would have it, the next maiden to be offered to the beast was the future wife of a young blacksmith from the village. He wasn't going to stand idly by during the sacrifice of his fiancée and decided to start the forge, working day and night to save her from her fateful destiny.
Thus, the blacksmith appeared at the Herensuge's lair with a long chain from his workshop and a large, still-warm spear. The craftsman was able to dodge the flames of the bloodthirsty dragon and seize the opportunity to skewer the beast with his spear until giving it death.
That village was able to live in peace from that moment on, although it is said... that the beast left behind an offspring that would take 1,000 years to break the shell of the egg containing it.
