Hoodies
Probably the only access point to 13th beach that is not a surf location. Waves here are generally quite poor especially compared to other locations along 13th beach. You may come across some horses though. Local horse trainers will often bring their horses here for a run on the beach and a swim. The location is named after the hooded plover, ana nedangered bird, which nests high up on the beach and in sand dunes. Hooded plovers can be seen and will nest from this point through to the point to the west. This area is not allowed to have dogs or horses to protect this habitat for the breeding hooded plovers.
