This is just a simple cache placed in the Honor of

I have had met Chris many times over the years .
But one of my fondest memories is when Chris attended a cache that was on Crosier before I went to Arizona

third hide for this cache. It's always been unlucky. First, someone damaged it by stepping on it, then there was the snake den problem (thank God it was not spiders). Lastly, it was the "X Marks the Spot" cache. When it was "X Marks the Spot", it was way out in the country. Yet, it still managed to bring bad luck. One night, someone drove off the country road and tore up the huge drain pipe the cache was under. Not sure the fate of the driver, but I do understand an ambulance came to the scene.
So, I gathered the cache and threw it in the back of the Gadget Truck. Big mistake!!! Two nights later, someone forced open the wing window of my truck and stole my radio/cd player. As if this wasn't bad enough, they stole over $400 in tools.
So, I decided to rehide it and get it away from me and my truck. Even today, when I was hiding it, I had a flat tire when I returned to the parking area.

I showed up at 7:00am for coffee and conversation, and enjoyed both. A bit brisk in the morning, but as the sun rose it became warmer, until the wind kicked in. Breakfast was excellent too! Nothing like a little energy food to get the day going! The area this event was held in is amazing. Beautiful views between the trees; what a great way to spend Veterans day. And yet again, Tahosa's chili is one to remember, even if it requires me (or her) to sleep on the couch!😉 Spent 13 hours with Tahosa & sons today, filling the day with GeoTouring, Geoteering, and completing some of the caches in the area. Wonderful company, wonderful day. Near the end of the day, even got a chance to have a 'strength competition' between Corey and I. Well, and a Ford Explorer. Pretty sure I won though.😎
Thanks for a day that'll stay in my memory.

This will go down as one of those days I will remember and bring up whenever I can.
Based on the information listed here on the event, I prepped for a 9 mile hike with just under 3,000ft. elevation change. So in the pack goes all the necessary items (food, water, first aid, etc) and a few travel bugs. Fully loaded, my pack weighed about 22lbs. Not too shabby (being that I brought 5 liters of water with).
Based on the actual information from my track log, our trek was 12.1 miles. What I failed to account for was the off-trail routes we would be taking searching for some pretty awesome caches. Not really sure what our overall elevation change though....my legs tell a different story.......
Hiking up in such good company was great. I enjoyed taking to everyone and it made the journey enjoyable - from the hike, people, views, and efforts - it was all great. I was a little disappointed that Corey chose not to come with (something about an XBox?).
The trek up to Bishop's staff and the Benchmark was long and unrelenting uphill. But wow, it's soooooo worth it. I'm proud of myself for getting there. After visiting the summit, we walked back down a ways and ate lunch while doing some mapwork for Mac's and Anne's.
After lunch, most of the trip was down-hill (but in a good way!). Glad to find jmike again (must have been playing peek-abo in the hills).
Pictures are worth 1,000 words, so I'll let my pictures do the rest of the talking.
Chris Passed away on January 15. 2025
This a Irish Poem for those who have passed away
"I’M FREE"
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,
Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch
If my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
