Geocache Description:

Sturmjagdpanzercachewagen IX Ausf. Q

If you want to understand one of the reasons why the Germans lost World War II, look no further than the ridiculous number of tank models and variants they produced during the war. In a teutonic quest for perfection, the Germans insisted on rolling out upgraded variants and whole new models of tanks up until the final months of the war. Manufacturing and maintaining this Panzer-Mischmasch proved a production and logistics nightmare for the Third Reich.

Result: Team Allies Win!

The name of this geocache was inspired by a long list of German tank models I perused.

I know that must sound dull to most of you, but I'm a dude and like most dudes I find both mechanical things and organized violence fascinating. Tanks grind their treads over both those buttons, releasing tiny hits of endorphins.

The name of this geocache is an absurd assemblage of German military terminology plus a fictitious model number…my intend is humor and nothing more.

Sorry to disappoint you, my fellow military history buffs, but this geocache bears absolutely no resemblance to a tank.

Good luck finding Assault-Hunter-Tank-Cache-Vehicle IX Ausf Q.
