This is one of our favourite places to visit. The library puts on a fantastic spread of entertainment for all ages. We love their contests, games, crafts, storytime, movie days, scavenger hunts, reading buddies, bingo nights and lots of other fun activities we probably don't even know about.
There used to be a different cache placed here and after it deteriorated, we asked permission if we could replace with a new hide. We are so excited and honoured to be able to just that. We hope you enjoy this little spot as much as we do.
The library has been located at 60024 MB-206, Dugald (right by the train tracks) since 2009. The Springfield Archives Department is also located within the library. The archives is the home of Springfield's history and features an impressive display available for public viewing that showcases a combination of municipal and donated items from community members dating back to 1873, when the municipality was originally formed. Visit Springfield Archives Department for more information.
A War Memorial monument is also located here and was erected in commemoration of people from the local area who served in the military service. Beside the monument is an armoured personnel carrier brought here by the Springfield Branch #146 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
