Park Ranger #4 - Legoland (2nd Edition)
4th cache in Highland Park (1-10 in Highland Park, 11-20 in Frick Park, 21-23 in Schenley Park)
*This is a gadget cache. What is a gadget cache? "Geocaches with a physical puzzle geocachers must solve to access the logbook".
Cache: It is straighforward as long as you can count to 10 and can see color...and I am partially colorblind, so you don't even have to see them well. Everything you need to solve the puzzle is in the ammo can. The bag with the pencils has some themed swag in it that has nothing to do with the puzzle. There should not be any DNF's for this one, so please message me if you are stuck. This area is directly off the Elm Grove Shelter trail and the shelter with the same name is nearby, but you can sneak around even when the shelter is being used and will be hidden from view. If you found the previous #4, it is in the same area but a million times easier to find. I even attached a picture for an additional hint, because it is all about the puzzle, right?

Identifying poison ivy (picture attached) and yes, there is a reason this portion is about poison ivy..:
- Three Leaflets: Each leaf is made up of three leaflets, with the middle one having a longer stem.
- Hairy Vine: When poison ivy grows as a vine, it has a hairy, rope-like appearance with aerial roots that help it cling to surfaces.
- Glossy Leaves: Poison ivy leaves are often noticeably glossy.
- Color Variation: Leaves can be reddish when young, green in summer, and turn yellow, orange, or red in the fall.
- Berries: In late summer and fall, clusters of white, waxy berries appear.
Most commonly mistaken for poison ivy:
- Virginia creeper also has three leaflets, but its vine is smooth, not hairy. Also, Virginia creeper typically has five leaflets, not three.
- Boston ivy also has three leaflets, but it is not poisonous
Once again we will be doing "Cache In, Trash Out" on this find, so please pick up one piece of trash on your way out of the park after getting your smiley face!
