Description: This Cache is placed as part of the 2025 Taconic Region Geocaching Challenge. The NYS Parks Saratoga-Capital Region and the Central Region will be hosting a similar challenge. Find 45 challenge caches in the Taconic Region and stamp your passport to earn a trackable geo-coin. Ten caches found in the Sara-Cap and/or Central Region Challenge can be used toward the Taconic Challenge. This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to mark your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item.

About this Cache: George Washington
George Washington, born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, is often referred to as the "Father of His Country." Washington was a planter and land surveyor before becoming a military leader. He led the Continental Army to victory against the British in the American Revolutionary War and became the first President of the United States, serving from 1789 to 1797. His leadership and vision were instrumental in shaping the new nation. Washington's contributions include presiding over the Constitutional Convention of 1787, promoting a strong federal government, and setting many precedents for the national government and presidency.
