About this Cache: John Adams
John Adams, born on October 30, 1735, in Quincy, Massachusetts, was a prominent lawyer, diplomat, and political theorist. Adams was a strong advocate for independence and played a leading role in the Continental Congress. He helped draft the Declaration of Independence and was a member of the committee that negotiated the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Revolutionary War. Adams served as the first Vice President of the United States under George Washington and later became the second President from 1797 to 1801. His contributions include promoting a strong central government and navigating the young nation through its early diplomatic challenges.
