Welcome to the
「Huolu's Tide」Green & Blue Cache Series
a Drizzleqyy initiated cache series.
Located in the northeast of Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Mount Huolu is a popular destination thanks to its beginner-friendly hiking trails. The mountain features gentle slopes and a unique landscape, with its main peak, Baijiading, reaching an altitude of 321.8 meters. The name "Huolu" (literally "fire furnace") originates from the mountain's fire-red appearance, a result of its red sandstone and granite composition. As a free-entry forest park that is yet to be heavily commercialized, Huolu Mountain offers an authentic, serene experience—ideal for breathing fresh air and observing nature’s impressive artistry. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast seeking a moderate hike or someone simply looking to connect with nature, Mount Huolu offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility for hiking, birdwatching, and photography.
Personally, I spent nearly half of my weekends in elementary school climbing this mountain together with my friends secretly. Back in those days, we always observed bizarrely shaped rocks along the way exploring various hiking routes. Many years later, I am hiding caches here to invite geocachers to witness the transformation of this once under-developed mountain park together. As the series' name suggests, I am also incorporating environmental and ocean protection knowledge into the mysteries, for more fun and diversity.
