Magnetoreception is a phenomenon found in birds that allows them to sense the earth's magnetic field.
The sense is linked to a special protein in their eyes, beak and ethmoid bones. Birds use the magnetic field's direction and inclination to orient themselves, particularly during long-distance migrations.
The object of this cache is to locate the WV STATE BIRD perched nearby, migrate this bird to the birdhouse and to use the similar properties mentioned above to gain access to the logbook found within the birdhouse.
